Description We are looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk to support daily payable operations for a busy team in California. This long-term contract opportunity is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, comfortable working onsite, and experienced in handling high-volume invoice activity. The position focuses on accurate payment processing, invoice review, and maintaining organized financial records in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Review and process vendor invoices with close attention to accuracy, approvals, and proper account coding.
Perform three-way matching by comparing purchase orders, receipts, and invoices before submitting items for payment.
Prepare and support check run activities to ensure vendors are paid on schedule.
Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies by coordinating with internal departments and external suppliers.
Maintain complete and organized accounts payable documentation for tracking, audit support, and reporting purposes.
Enter payable transactions into the accounting system, including work performed within Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
Assist with reconciling accounts payable records and identifying outstanding items that require follow-up. Requirements - Previous experience in accounts payable or a closely related accounting support role.
Working knowledge of invoice processing, invoice coding, and vendor payment procedures.
Hands-on experience performing three-way matching in a business environment.
Familiarity with check runs and standard accounts payable documentation practices.
Experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or similar accounting software.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage deadlines and maintain accuracy.
Ability to work onsite in California.
