The Sexton Law Firm has an immediate full-time opening for an experienced Workers’ Compensation Legal Assistant/Paralegal in its Chula Vista office to manage applicant injury claims. The ideal candidate will have at least one to three years or more of California Workers’ Compensation experience.
Major responsibilities of the Workers’ Compensation Legal Assistant will include, but will not be limited to, summarizing medical records, and providing support through all phases of litigation, including client contact, scheduling doctor appointments, requesting QME's etc...The candidate must have experience with Workers' Compensation Appeals Board (WCAB).
Qualifications and Skills:
-Minimum of three years of experience in California Workers’ Compensation matters
- Excellent organizational and time management, research and analytical skills
-Excellent communication skills, both written and oral;
- Must be a self-starter with the ability to prioritize and proactively manage a large case load
- Ability to work independently;
- Strong computer skills
- Must be a team player
- Merus Case software experience is a plus
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is not required but highly preferred
