As a CNC Machinist / Operator, you will play an important role in producing high-precision aerospace components. You'll set up and operate 3- to 5-axis CNC lathes, work from detailed blueprints and specifications, monitor machining processes, and ensure finished parts meet precise dimensional and quality requirements.This is a hands-on opportunity to work in a team-oriented manufacturing environment while supporting important customer production schedules and milestones.
What You'll Do
As a CNC Machinist / Operator, you will be responsible for:
Set up and operate 3- to 5-axis CNC lathes to produce parts to precise dimensions and close tolerances.
Operate multiple machines simultaneously as required.
Review electronic and written blueprints, work orders, and specifications to understand job requirements.
Calculate cutting, boring, feeds, and speeds as necessary for machining operations.
Select appropriate tools and materials for each job.
Monitor and control feed rates and machine speeds.
Ensure workpieces are properly lubricated and/or cooled during machining.
Monitor the accuracy of cuts and make adjustments as needed.
Inspect finished work using appropriate measuring tools and verify accuracy against blueprints and specifications.
Use both manual and computer-controlled machinery.
Perform other duties as assigned or requested to support production needs.
What You'll Bring
The ideal candidate will have:
At least 2 years of CNC lathe experience.
Proven ability to set up and operate 3- to 5-axis CNC machines.
Ability to use precision measuring tools.
Ability to comprehend and interpret blueprints, work orders, and other technical documents.
Regular and reliable attendance.
Willingness to work non-standard and/or additional hours on short notice to support customer milestones and production schedules, including overtime and off-shift work.
Ability to successfully pass a hands-on exam testing general CNC machining knowledge.
Physical Duties:
This position includes the following physical activities:
Walking up and down stairs.
Standing and working for extended periods.
Lifting and carry up to 25 lbs.
Pushing up to 50 lbs. on a rolling cart.
