Best Driver Solutions is seeking an experienced Recruiter/Dispatcher with transportation staffing experience to join our team. This position is responsible for recruiting and onboarding qualified CDL drivers, coordinating dispatch operations, supporting client staffing needs, and maintaining strong communication with drivers and customers.
Candidates must have prior experience in transportation staffing, CDL driver recruiting, or a closely related driver staffing environment. We are specifically seeking someone who understands the fast-paced nature of staffing drivers, filling client orders, managing driver call-offs and coverage, and maintaining a qualified driver pipeline. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, customer-focused, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
• Recruiting
• Source, screen, and interview qualified CDL drivers.
• Process applications and onboarding paperwork.
• Verify driver qualifications and compliance documentation.
• Schedule orientations, road tests, and client interviews.
• Maintain applicant tracking systems and recruiting databases.
• Build and maintain relationships with driver candidates.
• Maintain an active pipeline of qualified CDL drivers to meet current and anticipated client staffing needs.
• Recruit drivers based on specific client requirements and open orders.
Dispatching
• Coordinate driver assignments and daily schedules.
• Communicate load information, reporting instructions, and route details.
• Monitor attendance and address call-offs or scheduling issues.
• Ensure proper coverage for client staffing needs.
• Maintain accurate dispatch records and reports.
• Provide exceptional customer service to drivers and clients.
• Respond quickly to call-offs, open shifts, and urgent client coverage needs.
• Maintain regular communication with clients regarding staffing needs, driver performance, and assignment changes.
Qualifications
• Prior transportation staffing experience is required.
• Experience recruiting CDL Class A and/or Class B drivers is strongly preferred.
• Experience working for a staffing agency, driver staffing company, or transportation workforce provider is highly preferred.
• Working knowledge of DOT/FMCSA driver qualification requirements is strongly preferred.
• Experience sourcing, screening, interviewing, and onboarding commercial drivers.
• Experience coordinating driver assignments, client orders, call-offs, and last-minute coverage.
• Ability to manage multiple open positions and maintain an active pipeline of qualified drivers.
• Strong communication, customer service, and relationship-building skills.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced staffing environment.
• Experience with an applicant tracking system (ATS); Tenstreet experience is preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and web-based systems.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with recruiting, operations, and sales teams.
