Overview
The Part time Hotel Payroll Specialist is responsible for accurately and efficiently processing payroll for hotel employees while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour regulations. This position manages payroll using ADP Workforce, maintains accurate employee payroll records, supports timekeeping and attendance processes, and works closely with Human Resources, Finance, and department managers to resolve payroll-related issues.
Responsibilities
Process biweekly payroll accurately and on schedule using ADP Workforce.
Review and reconcile employee timecards, schedules, attendance records, overtime, PTO, and other payroll adjustments.
Ensure payroll data is accurately entered and maintained in ADP Workforce.
Process new hires, terminations, status changes, pay-rate changes, transfers, deductions, and other employee updates.
Work closely with department managers to identify and correct timekeeping and payroll discrepancies.
Verify payroll reports prior to submission and investigate variances or irregularities.
Calculate and process overtime, shift differentials, bonuses, commissions, service charges, tips, and other applicable earnings.
Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure confidentiality of employee compensation and personal information.
Assist with payroll-related tax filings, wage garnishments, deductions, and other statutory requirements.
Respond to employee questions regarding paychecks, deductions, PTO, taxes, direct deposits, and payroll policies.
Coordinate with Human Resources regarding employee onboarding, offboarding, benefits deductions, and payroll changes.
Assist with year-end payroll activities, including W-2 preparation and reconciliation.
Support internal and external payroll audits by providing requested documentation and reports.
Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local payroll and employment regulations.
Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes, controls, and efficiency.
Perform other payroll and accounting-related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
2+ years of payroll processing experience, preferably in a hotel, resort, restaurant, or hospitality environment.
Hands-on experience with ADP Workforce / ADP Workforce Now.
Strong understanding of payroll processing, timekeeping, overtime, deductions, and payroll reconciliation.
Knowledge of federal and state wage and hour requirements.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality with sensitive employee and payroll information.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to meet strict payroll deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
