Position Summary
Intersection Facility Services is a growing commercial facility services company based in San Diego. We’re hiring a state-certified Journeyman Electrician to handle service, repair, and installation work across commercial and light industrial properties in San Diego County. This is a hands-on field role for someone who’s solid in the field, comfortable supporting multiple service lines, and interested in growing with us long-term.
Core Responsibilities
Electrical Service & Installation
• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems in commercial and light industrial environments
• Panel work — breaker replacement, load balancing, and panel upgrades
• Lighting retrofits, fixture installations, and controls (occupancy sensors, dimmers, timers)
• Respond to service calls and diagnose electrical issues efficiently with minimal supervision
• Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and project specifications
• Ensure all work meets NEC and California code requirements and passes inspection
Projects, Estimating & Division Support
• Tenant improvement (TI) projects from rough-in through finish
• Low voltage work as needed — data, and coordination with fire alarm and access control vendors
• Estimating support — reviewing scope, materials, and labor needs
• Electrical support to our Maintenance, Small Projects, and Recurring Services divisions
• Maintain a clean, safe jobsite and follow all safety protocols
Minimum Requirements
• Current California General Electrician Certification (DIR) — required
• Journeyman-level commercial electrical experience (office, retail, or light industrial)
• Experience with both service/repair work and new installation
• Valid California driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation
• Ability to pass a background check
• Ability to lift 50 lbs, work on ladders and lifts, and work in attics, crawl spaces, and outdoor conditions
• Must be punctual, reliable, and able to maintain a consistent schedule
Skills & Qualifications
• Solid understanding of the NEC and California Electrical Code
• Ability to read blueprints and wiring diagrams
• Comfortable assisting with estimating — reading scopes and pulling numbers together
• Flexible and team-oriented; willing to support other divisions
• Comfortable using a smartphone for job updates and photos
• Professional, safety-conscious, and dependable when working in occupied buildings
• Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
Compensation & Benefits
• $35–$38/hr. depending on experience
