Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license and minimum 1+ years Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Several school nurse positions are available to support student well-being and health in an educational environment. Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN/LVN) with an interest in school-based care are encouraged to apply for these contract roles. Multiple schedules are available to accommodate different needs:
Available Schedules:
- Full-time: 7 hours per day, 5 days per week. Primary duties include office support and medication administration.
- Part-time: 2 days per week (Monday and Wednesday). This role focuses on monitoring a diabetic student and providing office support. Not a one-on-one position—help with medication as needed.
- Part-time: 1 day per week (Monday). Responsibilities include office support and medication administration.
Qualifications:
- Active LPN or LVN license in California.
- Previous experience in school nursing or pediatric care is strongly preferred.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Capable of working independently and adapting to a school setting.
- Current CPR certification.
Responsibilities:
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments during school hours.
- Monitor students with health needs, including those with chronic conditions.
- Provide first aid and handle basic health care within the school office.
- Maintain accurate and confidential health records.
- Collaborate with school staff to ensure student safety and wellness.
- Communicate with parents and healthcare providers as necessary.
