Licensed Vocational Nurse
In-Person Position Part-Time | Based in North County San Diego, California
Starting Compensation: $40 to $45 per hour
Weekly Schedule Variable | 20 Hours Per Week Minimum

Optimum Wellness Natural Medicine is a growing naturopathic and regenerative medicine practice dedicated to providing highly personalized, patient-centered care. Our team combines individualized wellness planning with innovative therapies in functional, naturopathic, integrative, and regenerative medicine.
We are seeking a compassionate, skilled, and dependable Licensed Vocational Nurse to join our clinical team. This position is well suited for an LVN who values meaningful patient relationships, enjoys hands-on clinical care, and is eager to continue learning in an evolving area of medicine.
Our practice regularly explores new treatment modalities, technologies, clinical protocols, and developments in regenerative medicine. The selected candidate will have opportunities for ongoing education, hands-on training, and exposure to emerging therapies. We are looking for someone who is curious, adaptable, and excited to learn and grow alongside the practice.

Position Overview:
The LVN will work closely with the provider to support high-quality patient care, treatment preparation, patient education, documentation, inventory management, and daily clinical operations.
This is a flexible hybrid position that includes some remote administrative responsibilities, in-clinic patient care in North County San Diego, and opportunities to assist with concierge clinics and specialty treatment events throughout California and occasionally in other locations within the United States.
Travel assignments may include local day trips, multi-day treatment events, or occasional clinic assignments lasting one to two weeks. Work schedules will vary based on patient volume, treatment dates, provider availability, and concierge clinic schedules. Flexibility, reliability, and adaptability are essential.

Primary Responsibilities:
Direct Patient Care
Welcome and room patients while maintaining a warm, professional experience
Obtain and document complete vital signs
Collect and review relevant medical history, medications, allergies, and supplements
Perform focused patient intake and document chief concerns
Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments
Observe and monitor patients before, during, and after treatment
Recognize changes in patient condition and promptly communicate concerns to the provider
Provide attentive and compassionate nursing support throughout each visit
Reinforce aftercare instructions and follow-up recommendations established by the provider
IV Therapy and Clinical Procedures
Perform venipuncture and blood specimen collection
Initiate and monitor IV therapy as authorized by California law, provider direction, clinic protocols, and the LVN’s certifications and demonstrated competencies
Prepare and administer ordered IV nutrients, medications, injections, peptides, and related therapies within the LVN’s legal scope of practice
Assist the provider with regenerative medicine procedures, PRP-related treatments, laser therapies, ozone-related treatments, injections, and other wellness procedures within scope
Prepare procedure trays, treatment supplies, and clinical equipment
Maintain sterile or aseptic technique as appropriate
Follow infection-prevention, medication-safety, and emergency-response protocols
Monitor for adverse reactions and immediately notify the provider when concerns arise
Laboratory and Diagnostic Support
Collect, label, process, and prepare laboratory specimens
Prepare specialty laboratory kits and outside laboratory orders
Confirm that specimens are stored and transported appropriately
Track pending laboratory results and follow up on missing reports
Organize laboratory reports for provider review
Prepare patient charts and relevant clinical information before appointments
Assist with coordinating laboratory testing, imaging, and outside referrals
Patient Education and Communication
Under provider direction and using established treatment plans and educational materials:
Reinforce treatment instructions and care plans
Explain IV therapy and injection schedules
Review supplement and medication instructions
Reinforce lifestyle, nutrition, and home-care recommendations
Review preparation and aftercare requirements
Explain expected follow-up timelines and treatment-day procedures
Confirm patient understanding and communicate unresolved questions to the provider
The LVN must remain within scope and should not independently diagnose, prescribe, or create treatment plans.
Clinical Documentation:
Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records
Document focused nursing observations and patient-reported information
Record treatments, medications, injections, and IV therapies administered
Complete procedure and treatment documentation
Document relevant patient communication and follow-up
Maintain HIPAA compliance and strict patient confidentiality
Support accurate and timely chart completion
Clinic Operations:
Prepare and reset treatment rooms
Clean, disinfect, and sterilize equipment according to clinic protocols
Monitor medical supplies, medications, and clinical inventory
Identify low-stock, expired, or damaged items
Assist with ordering and organizing clinical supplies
Support quality assurance, infection prevention, and safety procedures
Maintain compliance with applicable OSHA standards and clinic policies
Help develop and improve clinical workflows, checklists, and standard operating procedures
Support an organized and efficient daily clinic flow
Patient Coordination:
Assist with scheduling treatments and follow-up appointments
Coordinate laboratory testing, imaging, and outside referrals
Respond to patient questions that fall within the LVN’s scope
Relay provider-approved recommendations and instructions
Coordinate treatment logistics with clinical and administrative team members
Help ensure that required forms, laboratory results, and treatment preparations are completed
Provide responsive, concierge-level service throughout the patient’s experience
Concierge Clinic and Travel Support
When participating in concierge clinics or specialty treatment events, responsibilities may include:
Providing direct clinical patient care
Administering and monitoring ordered IV therapies
Supporting patient intake and documentation
Preparing treatments, procedure trays, and equipment
Managing supplies and clinical inventory
Assisting with clinic setup and breakdown
Coordinating daily patient flow
Supporting the provider during procedures
Following travel-clinic safety, documentation, and inventory protocols
Additional compensation and travel arrangements will be determined based on the assignment’s location, duration, schedule, and responsibilities.

Participate in practice-provided training and clinical education
Learn new treatment modalities and equipment
Review clinical protocols, safety procedures, and relevant research
Demonstrate competency before independently performing assigned clinical duties
Ask questions and seek clarification when learning unfamiliar procedures
Remain current on LVN licensing, certification, and continuing-education requirements
Contribute to the development of new clinical workflows and patient-care systems
Grow into additional responsibilities as competency and practice needs develop
Previous regenerative or integrative medicine experience is valuable but is not required for every modality. A strong clinical foundation, good judgment, attention to safety, and a genuine eagerness to learn are essential.

Required Qualifications
Active California Licensed Vocational Nurse license in good standing
California Board-approved IV Therapy and Blood Withdrawal certification
Current Basic Life Support certification
Strong venipuncture, injection, and IV therapy skills
Demonstrated ability to safely monitor patients receiving treatment
Strong computer and electronic medical record skills
Excellent written and verbal communication
Working knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA, infection-prevention, and patient-safety requirements
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
Ability to follow provider orders, written protocols, and scope-of-practice requirements
Willingness to participate in ongoing education and competency training
Willingness to travel for concierge clinic assignments when needed
Preferred Qualifications:
Two or more years of clinical nursing experience
Experience in naturopathic, functional, integrative, regenerative, infusion, or concierge medicine
Experience with IV nutrient therapy
Experience supporting peptide or injectable therapies
Experience assisting with PRP or regenerative procedures
Familiarity with laser-based or other wellness technologies
Experience processing laboratory specimens and specialty laboratory kits
Knowledge of nutritional supplementation
Experience providing patient education
Familiarity with Jane App or a similar electronic medical record system
Proficiency with Google Workspace
Experience supporting clinic operations, inventory management, or workflow improvement
Schedule
This flexible position may include:
Some Remote administrative work
In-clinic patient-care days
Specialty treatment weeks
Concierge clinic assignments
Occasional evening or weekend responsibilities
Local and out-of-area travel
Multi-day or occasional one-week to two-week assignments
Advance notice will be provided whenever possible. Weekly hours are expected to vary based on clinic needs, patient volume, treatment schedules, and travel assignments.
*Part-time 20 minimum, to 25 hours a week with the possibility to build to Full-time
Compensation
Starting compensation: $40 to $45 per hour
Final compensation will be based on nursing experience, certifications, clinical competencies, travel expectations, and assigned responsibilities.
Additional compensation may be available for concierge clinics, travel assignments, extended treatment days, and specialty events. Travel expenses, accommodations, and assignment-specific compensation will be discussed in advance.
Work Location:
The practice is currently located in San Marcos, CA but may be moving to another location within North County San Diego.
The LVN must be able to report to the clinic for scheduled patient-care days and travel to other locations when assigned.
Pay: $40.00 - $45.00 per hour
