Primary Responsibilities
· Operate excavators, loaders, skid steers, skip loaders, and other heavy equipment.
· Perform safe excavation techniques, including benching and sloping.
· Dig safely around existing underground utilities.
· Complete daily equipment inspections and routine maintenance.
· Read and follow project plans and specifications.
· Troubleshoot equipment issues.
· Work closely with supervisors and crew members to maintain safety and productivity.
· Keep records of equipment use and inspections.
Required Qualifications
· At least 2 years of heavy equipment operating experience.
· Experience with underground utility or similar construction work.
· Ability to operate multiple types of heavy equipment.
· Knowledge of excavation safety and OSHA standards.
· Ability to read construction plans.
· Valid driver's license and applicable equipment certifications.
Preferred Qualifications
· Underground utility construction experience.
· Safety or equipment operation certifications.
· Ability to read utility maps and technical drawings.
· Strong physical stamina.
· Good communication and teamwork skills.
