POSITION SUMMARY:
The Prep Cook is responsible for assisting the culinary team with various tasks. Strong organizational and interpersonal communication skills are necessary.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Thoroughly washing and chopping vegetables, fruits, and herbs according to recipe specifications.
• Cutting and trimming meats as needed.
• Preparing sauces, dressings, and other components as per recipes.
• Properly storing and labeling ingredients to ensure freshness and easy access.
• Cleaning work surfaces, equipment, and disposing of waste throughout the shift.
• Adhering to proper food handling practices to prevent contamination.
• Rotating stock to ensure first-in, first-out usage.
• Following instructions from head chefs and line cooks regarding prep needs.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
• Excellent knife handling skills for efficient and safe chopping and slicing.
• Ability to precisely follow recipes and measurements.
• Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks.
• Understanding of basic cooking techniques and terminology.
• Knowledge of proper food handling and sanitation practices.
• Food handlers certificate required
• Ability to work effectively with other kitchen staff members.

RATE OF PAY: $24/hr.
