Daily Wei is an online retailer of non-prescription Chinese herbal blends launching in late 2026, in the tradition of retail patent formulas. Products are built on classical bases and sold direct to consumers, who choose a formula with the help of an online questionnaire.
Because customers self-select, the formulas have to be safe for someone who picks imperfectly. That is the review I need: a trained Chinese herbalist (preferably a licensed acupuncturist) to look at 13 draft formulas (8 raw decoction, 5 granule) and the questionnaire that routes people to them.
The work:
- Review the formulas for safety and appropriateness as self-selected retail products, and flag anything that should not be sold without a practitioner's diagnosis
- Confirm the formulas stay in conservative, low-risk territory and suggest changes where they don't
- Flag contraindications, particularly pregnancy and common medications
- Review the questionnaire and its routing, with an eye to where a mismatch would be problematic and how to reduce it
Safeguards already in place: pregnancy and nursing screening, a referral path to licensed practitioners for complex cases, and no aggressive or restricted herbs.
One-time remote project with a written deliverable, roughly 12 to 15 hours over about a month. Not a clinical or patient-facing role. $1,500 flat fee, half at start and half on completion. Your name and credentials will not be used in marketing.
You should have formal training in Chinese herbal medicine: a licensed acupuncturist with herbal training, an NCCAOM Diplomate of Chinese Herbology, a graduate of a TCM master's or doctoral program, or an AHG Registered Herbalist with Chinese herbal training. Experience with retail or patent formulas, teaching, or product formulation is a plus.
