We are seeking a full-time Building Maintenance Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the facility and its equipment, as well as assisting with building operations to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for all patrons.
Facilities Technician – Job Description
Purpose:
The Facilities Technician supports Skatetown’s mission by ensuring a clean, safe, and fully operational environment for all guests and staff. This role combines ice rink operations with general building maintenance and repair responsibilities to help keep the facility running efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities:
• Complete daily shift tasks independently with a positive, service-oriented attitude
• Operate and maintain rink equipment including the Zamboni and other cleaning tools
• Perform hands-on maintenance and repairs on the building's structure, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
• Resurface the ice as needed to maintain quality skating conditions
• Conduct regular inspections of the facility to identify and address safety hazards and maintenance issues
• Ensure public areas (restrooms, locker rooms, parking lot) are clean, stocked, and hazard-free
• Monitor and restock cleaning and maintenance supplies
• Maintain and organize all tools and equipment; report or repair defective items
• Respond to building or equipment emergencies and be available for on-call support as needed
• Clearly communicate with guests, teammates, and vendors while following through on tasks
• Accurately document completed work, inspections, and maintenance logs
• Lock and secure facility areas during and after shifts

• Hockey Director, Skating Director, Pro Shop Manager, Snack Bar Manager, Accounting, Marketing, and Rink Staff

Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent required; AA degree or relevant trade experience preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience in commercial building or facility maintenance
• Proficiency with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building systems
• Experience with rink operations or similar equipment is a plus
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and safety procedures
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work both independently and on a team
• Must pass a background check and be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
