All Star Trial Attorneys, APC (dba Core Family Law), a boutique family law firm, is seeking a highly organized and dependable Legal Assistant / Junior Paralegal to join our Santa Ana office.
This position will work directly under the firm's Senior Paralegal and support attorneys and staff with the day-to-day management and progression of family law matters.
The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, reliable, and comfortable managing multiple assignments and deadlines in a fast-paced litigation environment. Family law experience is strongly preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Prior experience as a Legal Assistant, Junior Paralegal, or similar legal support professional preferred
Family law experience strongly preferred
Familiarity with California court procedures and electronic filing systems preferred
Strong organizational and administrative skills
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple time-sensitive assignments and deadlines
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Professional communication with clients, attorneys, opposing counsel, court staff, and vendors
Strong computer skills and ability to learn case management systems
Ability to work efficiently under the direction of a Senior Paralegal and attorneys
Strong work ethic, reliability, punctuality, and consistent attendance
Ability to work independently and follow through on assignments
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist the Senior Paralegal with management and progression of family law cases
Support attorneys with case preparation and administrative needs
Calendar and track hearings, filing deadlines, discovery deadlines, and other case-related dates
Monitor tasks and deadlines to ensure timely completion
Prepare, format, proofread, and finalize correspondence, pleadings, Judicial Council forms, discovery, notices, and other legal documents
Assist with preparation and organization of discovery requests, responses, and document productions
Electronically file and serve court documents
Obtain and organize conformed copies, court records, transcripts, subpoenas, and other case-related documents
Maintain accurate and organized electronic case files
Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, courts, vendors, and other third parties
Assist with hearing and trial preparation, including organization of exhibits and supporting documents
Enter and maintain case notes, tasks, deadlines, and documents in the firm's case management system
Schedule client calls, attorney meetings, consultations, and case-related appointments
Accurately record billable and non-billable time as required
Assist with other legal and administrative duties as needed
