We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Alterations Specialist to join our dynamic fashion retail team. In this role, you will be the go-to expert for clothing alterations, ensuring every garment fits perfectly and meets our high standards of craftsmanship. Your expertise in garment sewing, fabric materials, and tailoring will help customers feel confident and satisfied with their custom or altered apparel. Duties
-Perform clothing alterations and repairs on a variety of garments, including men's wear tailoring, women's wear tailoring, and custom apparel production
-Be able to alterate formal wear, jackets, pants, and dresses.
-Use sewing machines, hand sewing techniques, and pressing machines to modify garments accurately and efficiently
-Operate pressing machines to ensure garments are crisp, neat, and presentation-ready
-Consult with customers to understand their alteration needs and provide expert advice on fabric materials and garment construction
-Measure clients precisely using basic math skills to determine appropriate adjustments for perfect fit
-Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring all sewing tools and equipment are properly cared for and functioning optimally
-Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of alterations while maintaining high-quality standards
Qualifications
-Proven experience in clothing alterations within a fashion retail environment or similar setting
-Strong knowledge of garment sewing, stitching techniques, fabric materials, and garment construction principles
-Skilled in operating sewing machines, pressing machines, and hand sewing tools with precision
-Familiarity with men's wear tailoring, women's wear tailoring, and custom apparel production processes
-Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally
-Basic math skills for measuring garments accurately and calculating adjustments
-Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
