3 days/week 8AM-8M + weekend/holiday rotation
We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our Urgent Care team in Ankeny, IA. In Urgent Care, every day is different, and your role makes a direct impact on patients when they need care quickly. From welcoming patients and taking vital signs to assisting with procedures, preparing for exams, and supporting providers, you’ll be an essential part of keeping care moving and making each patient feel heard, cared for, and confident in their treatment. Responsibilities
- Assist physicians during patient exams and procedures
- Room patients, record patient histories, vital signs, and document in the electronic health record (EHR)
- Administer medications, immunizations, and treatments per scope of licensure
- Educate patients on health, medications, and follow-up care
- Coordinate referrals and patient care follow-ups
- Ensure a clean, safe, and organized clinical environment
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited program for Medical Assistants (Certificate, diploma, or Associate’s Degree) required.
- Certified or Registered Medical Assistant through one of the following required:
- National Healthcare Association
- American Association of Medical Assistants
- National Center for Competency Testing
- National Certified Medical Assistant
- National Association of Health Professionals
- American Registry of Medical Assistants
- American Allied Health
- American Medical Technologists
- Prior experience in a clinical or outpatient setting preferred
- Familiarity with EPIC a plus!
- For positions within UnityPoint Clinic, team members may be required to work at or to float to other locations to support optimized staffing
