Forklift Operators (1st & 2nd Shift)

1st Shift
- 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM
- $17.75 per hour
2nd Shift
- 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM
- $18.00 per hour
Position Overview
The Forklift Operator I is responsible for safely operating forklifts and other material-handling equipment to move, store, stack, and transport merchandise throughout the warehouse. This position supports daily warehouse operations by ensuring inventory accuracy, timely order fulfillment, and adherence to all company safety policies and operational procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate Sit-Down and Sit-Down Clamp forklifts, as well as other material-handling equipment.
- Complete and document pre-operational equipment inspections.
- Load, unload, move, stack, and store products in designated warehouse locations.
- Accurately pull and prepare customer orders for shipment.
- Verify product quantities and ensure shipment accuracy.
- Perform order picking and staging for outbound shipments.
- Utilize RF scanners for inventory tracking and warehouse operations.
- Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts and physical inventories.
- Rotate inventory according to company procedures.
- Identify, investigate, and report inventory discrepancies.
- Complete required documentation, reports, and operational records.
- Report safety concerns, incidents, and equipment issues promptly.
- Use basic computer applications, including Microsoft Excel, to support warehouse operations.
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Minimum of 6 months of Sit-Down forklift experience in a warehouse or distribution environment.
- Ability to successfully obtain and maintain forklift certification.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Basic math skills.
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous warehouse, distribution center, or logistics experience.
- Experience using RF scanners and warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Experience in shipping, receiving, inventory control, or order picking.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, up to 10-12 hours per shift.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds as needed.
- Frequent bending, reaching, stretching, stooping, and lifting above shoulder level.
- Ability to work in varying warehouse conditions, including temperature fluctuations, noise, and different lighting environments.
- Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
