About the Opportunity
Our client is a growing global commodity trading and logistics company headquartered in Houston. Following a recent headquarters relocation and finance transformation, they're expanding their Accounting & Finance team and seeking an experienced AP Trade Finance Analyst to join their collaborative, hands-on environment.
This position reports directly to the CFO and offers broad exposure across Accounting, Treasury, Operations, and Commercial teams.
Position Summary
This role is responsible for owning the full-cycle Accounts Payable process while supporting month-end close, cash flow forecasting, and vendor management. The ideal candidate has strong AP fundamentals, enjoys improving processes, and thrives in a fast-paced business environment.
Responsibilities
Own full-cycle Accounts Payable processing (250+ invoices/month)
Review, code, and process invoices
Obtain invoice approvals and manage payment workflows
Process ACH and wire payments
Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
Build strong relationships with vendors and logistics partners
Prepare AP accruals and support month-end close
Assist with cash flow forecasting and weekly payment planning
Identify process improvements while maintaining strong internal controls
Cross-train in Accounts Receivable and provide backup support as needed
Preferred Background
2-5+ years of full-cycle Accounts Payable experience
Experience with month-end close, accruals, and reconciliations
Background in commodity trading, logistics, transportation, maritime, freight, or industrial industries preferred
Experience processing freight or logistics-related invoices is highly desirable
Microsoft Dynamics or ERP experience preferred
Strong Excel skills

Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary: $85,000-$95,000
Annual Bonus Target: 10%
