Lieff Cabraser Heimann & Bernstein, LLP, a national leader in plaintiffs' class action and multi-plaintiff litigation, has an immediate opening onsite in San Francisco for a highly motivated and proactive Information Technology Systems Administrator.
SUMMARY
Reporting to the Information Technology Manager and the Sr. Systems Administrator, the Systems Administrator is responsible for the effective monitoring and operation of information technology (IT) infrastructure and services across the firm. The Systems Administrator serves as next level escalation for technical issues involving user support. They monitor and evaluate approaches to deliver IT services; test the functionality of systems, applications, and data.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES includes but not limited to the following. Other duties as assigned.
• First level of response per guidelines and response and resolution timelines, including after-hours for any
• Connectivity issues including server, LAN, WAN, or Internet
• Server room issues, such as power or A/C
• Server OS or application issues
• Physical or virtual hardware infrastructure issues
• Response and resolution to any infrastructure or system alerts
• Escalation support during and after business hours per guidelines and response and resolution timelines
• Utilize firm’s Help Desk ticketing software to maintain and track user issues from escalation through problem resolution per implemented guidelines and response and resolution timelines
• production applications issues beyond the scope of Helpdesk
• user hardware or software issues beyond the scope of Helpdesk
• advanced non-standard software installation beyond the scope of Helpdesk
• Creation, deletion, and maintenance of all user accounts, including IP phones and unified messaging
• Maintain and proactively monitor Firm production environment
• Windows Active Directory and related services
• Exchange and related services – Mail flow, filtering, archiving etc.
• Citrix XenDesktop infrastructure and related services
• VMWare servers and services
• Application servers and related services
• Daily backups including cloud archiving
• Server hardware and software to include updates to software or firmware
• Desktop image creation and maintenance
• Desktop scripting, GPO, policy, and application package deployment
• UPS and CRAC monitoring
• Maintain server room and data closets

• Maintain work area in a neat and professional manner

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
• 3+ years of experience in providing direct support for a Windows based environment in a Help Desk or higher position
• 1+ years of recent experience in a law firm
• Demonstrated understanding of Windows and Mac OS, including related hardware
• Demonstrated proficiency in supporting Microsoft Office 365
• Direct support of HP, Lexmark, and Canon peripherals
• Direct support of Poly desk and conference phones
• Direct support of Poly videoconferencing
• Direct support of Zoom and Microsoft Teams videoconferencing
• Ability to communicate in person, by telephone, or through email; in a pleasant and effective manner with attorneys, staff, or peers
• Exceptional customer service, troubleshooting, problem solving, and follow-up skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills; must be a team player.
• Ability to handle stressful situations in a calm, composed manner.
• Ability to quickly assess, assimilate, and adapt to a given situation

The following skills sets are highly desirable but not required:
• Training experience, either one-on-one or classroom
• Experience with Citrix XenDesktop
• Basic understanding of Cisco networked environments (both LAN and WAN).
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
• Must be able to repetitively lift a minimum of 20 pounds
• Must be able to repetitively bend legs to store or retrieve equipment in lower shelves or drawers
• Must be able to repetitively reach to a maximum of 15 inches to store or retrieve equipment in upper shelves or drawers
• Can operate/type on personal computer for up to 6 hours per day
• Can operate standard office equipment such as photocopiers, scanners, personal computer, and telephones.
SHIFT/WEEKLY SCHEDULE
Shift hours are from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm or 8:00am to 4:00pm, Monday through Friday. Position is onsite full-time (five days per week). (If after six months the candidate has demonstrated sufficient ability to work independently and it is possible logistically and securely to work a hybrid schedule, the position may include the option of working remotely two days per week)
Must be willing to assume additional work hours during busy periods.
