Technology Support Technician 30
Report To: Manager of Technology Field Operations
Location: Campbell Resource Center
General Statement of Duties and Responsibilities:
Under general supervision, provides first-level technical support for district technology systems, devices, classroom technology, and end users. Installs, configures, maintains, and troubleshoots computer hardware, software, peripherals, and basic network-connected devices. Supports daily technology operations within assigned schools and district locations while ensuring a high level of customer service and responsiveness to staff and students.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Installs, configures, maintains, and troubleshoots district-supported devices, including desktops, laptops, Chromebooks, printers, and peripheral equipment.
Provides first-level support for hardware, software, classroom technology, and technology-related service requests.
Assists users with district-supported applications, operating systems, and technology resources.
Supports classroom technology, instructional technology equipment, and school-based technology initiatives.
Performs basic troubleshooting of network-connected devices and connectivity issues and escalates complex issues as appropriate.
Assists with device deployment, collection, replacement, inventory management, and asset tracking activities.
Maintains accurate records related to technology installations, repairs, inventory, and service requests.
Works collaboratively with Service Desk, Network & Field Operations, Enterprise Systems, and school-based staff to resolve technology issues.
Provides basic technology training and guidance to staff and end users.
Performs related duties of a similar nature, as requested by the supervisor, which are commensurate with the position.
Quali?cations:
Required:
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum of one year of experience supporting computer hardware, software, or technology systems
Ability to troubleshoot basic hardware and software issues
Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical users
Ability to follow written technical procedures and instructions
Valid Massachusetts driver's license
Ability to lift and transport computer equipment and technology devices
City of Boston residency required
Preferred:
Experience supporting technology in a K-12 educational environment
Familiarity with Google Workspace, ChromeOS, Windows, or Microsoft 365
Experience with inventory or asset management systems
Basic understanding of networking and wireless technologies
