seeking an experienced and self-directed CNC Toolmaker with a strong background in conventional and CNC machining.
The primary assignment will involve setting up, programming, and operating a Milltronics MB25 single-tool NC milling machine. Most programming is performed conversationally at the machine control.
The successful candidate must be able to organize work, solve machining problems, and move projects forward with limited supervision while consistently following drawing, inspection, quality, and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
• Set up, program, and operate a Milltronics MB25 single-tool NC milling machine.
• Perform conversational programming directly at the machine control.
• Plan machining operations and complete assigned projects with limited supervision.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings quickly and accurately.
• Interpret dimensional tolerances and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
• Perform complex machining setups and work accurately to close tolerances.
• Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and cutting conditions.
• Grind and sharpen cutting tools as required.
• Manufacture, modify, fit, troubleshoot, and repair tooling and precision components.
• Inspect completed work using appropriate precision measuring instruments.
• Identify and communicate drawing, tooling, material, or quality concerns before proceeding.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
Required Qualifications
• Minimum of five years of experience as a Toolmaker.
• Practical experience with both conventional and CNC machining.
• Strong conversational CNC/NC programming skills.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and interpret GD&T.
• Knowledge of cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and machining practices.
• Experience performing complex setups and working to close tolerances.
• Tool-grinding and cutting-tool sharpening experience.
• Broad knowledge of tooling and precision tool fabrication.
• Ability to work independently without bypassing quality or safety requirements.
• Strong problem-solving, organization, and project follow-through skills.
Preferred Qualifications
• Manual milling experience.
• Manual lathe experience.
• Experience manufacturing, fitting, modifying, and repairing tooling.
