Local grading, underground utility, and excavation contractor is looking to expand our workforce. We offer competitive wages based on qualifications and experience, healthcare benefits, paid holidays, and paid vacation.
Pay Range: $20.00–$30.00 per hour, depending on experience.
Basic Requirements
Valid California Driver's License.
Reliable attendance and dependable transportation to and from the jobsite.
Good communication skills.
Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team.
Adaptable to changing schedules and jobsite conditions.
Willingness to work overtime and weekends when required.
OSHA 10 Certification is a plus.
Laborer Position
Characteristics of the Position
Under the direct supervision of a Foreman or Superintendent, performs physically demanding construction labor and assists skilled trades personnel on grading, excavation, underground utility, retaining wall, and concrete construction projects.
Essential Duties Include, but Are Not Limited To:
Prepare construction sites for work activities.
Dig, backfill, and compact trenches.
Install trench bracing and shoring systems.
Excavate, grade, and prepare subgrades for concrete and other improvements.
Operate and maintain pneumatic tools, including jackhammers, pavement breakers, tampers, and compactors.
Safely use hand tools such as shovels, picks, sledgehammers, rakes, and other construction equipment.
Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment from trucks.
Assist with installing underground utilities, including pipe, valves, hydrants, fittings, and castings.
Set up traffic control devices, including barricades, cones, signs, and steel plates.
Direct vehicular and pedestrian traffic around active work zones.
Operate water hoses for dust control and construction activities.
Perform general jobsite cleanup and maintain a safe, organized work area.
Assist with the construction of segmented retaining wall systems.
Perform concrete work, including forming, placing, finishing, and curing retaining walls, footings, sidewalks, curbs, gutters, and other concrete structures.
Experience with segmented retaining wall systems, concrete construction, and concrete finishing is highly preferred.
Frequently lift and carry materials weighing 50–90 pounds throughout the workday.
Perform other duties as assigned.
