About the Role
We are seeking a reliable, proactive Short-Term Rental Territory Manager based in San Diego County to oversee day-to-day, on-the-ground operations for our portfolio of vacation rentals across coastal, central, and inland areas (including La Mesa and Poway).
As our primary local presence, you will ensure properties are guest-ready, perform routine walkthroughs, meet guests when needed, and help enforce local Short-Term Rental / Residential Occupancy ordinances. The ideal candidate lives locally, loves hospitality, has an eagle eye for detail, and thrives in an active, hands-on environment.
Key Responsibilities
Property Walkthroughs & Quality Control
Pre-Stay Inspections: Perform pre-stay walkthroughs to ensure high cleanliness standards, verify AC/heating settings, test Wi-Fi, inspect outdoor/patio setups, and restock essential supplies.
Post-Checkout Inspections: Conduct post-checkout walkthroughs to inspect for damages, test smart locks, check designated parking areas, and document missing inventory.
Minor Maintenance: Perform minor hands-on fixes (changing lightbulbs, resetting Wi-Fi routers, replacing smart lock batteries) or notify vendors for larger repairs.
Guest Experience & Compliance
On-Site Guest Support: Greet guests on-site for special check-ins or assist with hands-on orientation (smart home tech, parking instructions, grill/firepit operation, pool/spa controllers).
Local Contact Person & Compliance: Serve as the designated Local Contact Person required by city ordinances (City of San Diego, La Mesa, and Poway) to respond to guest inquiries, parking complaints, or noise compliance issues within mandatory timeframes (typically within 30–60 minutes).
Hospitality & Rules: Provide friendly, professional hospitality while gently reinforcing house rules, parking guidelines, and municipal quiet hours.
Vendor & Inventory Management
Quality Assurance: Spot-check work performed by housekeepers, maintenance technicians, pool operators, and landscapers.
Stock Management: Maintain supply inventories across properties (toiletries, paper products, linens, beach towels) and restock as needed.
Qualifications & Requirements
Local Residency: Must live in San Diego County with quick, convenient access to key rental hubs across central, coastal, and inland zones (e.g., La Mesa, Poway, Pacific Beach, La Jolla, Downtown, or surrounding areas).
Transportation: Valid California driver’s license, reliable personal vehicle, and proof of active auto insurance.
Availability: Flexible schedule including weekend, evening, and holiday availability during peak turnover and seasonal periods.
Tech Skills: Comfortable using smartphone apps for logging property checklists, uploading photo updates, and communicating with team members.
Detail-Oriented: Quick to spot small issues—a missed spot during cleaning, a burnt-out bulb, missing amenities, or a parking concern—before guests notice.
Compensation & Perks
Hourly Rate: $22.00 per hour.
Schedule: Flexible, independent workflow with direct visibility into property performance.
