Qualifications
Master’s degree in psychology, counseling, special education, rehabilitation, social work, disability services, or a related field required Minimum one year of experience working with students with learning disabilities at the post-secondary level, preferably in a teaching capacity Knowledge of the Americans with Disabilities Act, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and other federal laws pertaining to disability in higher education Experience interpreting disability-related documentation and psychoeducational evaluations Proven ability to teach reading and writing skills and experience in developing alternative learning strategies Experience working with students with physical and psychological disabilities, as well as those on the autism spectrum, preferred Commitment to fostering diversity and inclusivity, with demonstrated competence in working with students from diverse background Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment Strong computer technical abilities, including proficiency with Microsoft and Google products, assistive technologies, data management systems, and software used for student support services Availability to work occasional evening and weekend hours as needed
Preferred Qualifications
Two years of experience working with students with learning disabilities at the post-secondary level. Knowledge of assistive technology and its application in educational settings. Previous experience in a higher education setting providing academic support services. Familiarity with Navigate, Accommodate, or similar student management systems.
