YourLegacyYourStory is a storytelling company that helps families, businesses, and organizations digitize, protect, restore, and share their most treasured memories — photos, home movies, documents, film reels, and more. Once everything is digital, we take it further: publishing heirloom-quality family history books, producing ancestry documentaries, narrating old 8mm film, building websites, and beyond.
We work four 10-hour days — Friday is always yours. Our studio is in the heart of Downtown San Diego, steps from Little Italy, the waterfront, the Trolley, and great food. The kitchen is fully stocked.
The Role
We're looking for a sharp, organized, creative person to own the production process from start to finish. You'll be the person who keeps projects moving — reviewing incoming jobs, coordinating our production team, communicating with customers, and making sure every finished product gets delivered with pride.
This isn't a desk-and-spreadsheet job. You'll be hands-on with photo restoration, family documentaries, book publishing, and digitization projects every day. If you love creative work and love checking things off a list, this role was made for you.
What You'll Do
Review new customer projects and map out a production plan
Manage projects from intake through final delivery, keeping everything on schedule
Communicate with customers and internal team members throughout the process
Coordinate with editors, designers, and technicians to hit deadlines
Participate in photo restoration, documentary production, and book publishing workflows
Perform quality checks before delivery
Handle wrap-up details so every project closes cleanly
You're a Great Fit If You
Are a university graduate (or current senior) with strong organizational instincts
Have a background in photography, video, graphic design, publishing, film, or a related creative field
Communicate clearly — in writing and in person
Take detailed notes and follow through without being reminded
Get genuine satisfaction from moving projects forward and finishing things
Are coachable and eager to grow
Can lift up to 40 lbs safely
Are authorized to work in the United States
Bonus Points For Experience With
Video editing · book production · script writing · Photoshop / Adobe Suite · scanning · photo restoration · graphic design · print production · archival materials (negatives, slides, film reels) · storytelling · quality control · event or booth sales
