Part-Time Human Resources Coordinator

We are a well-established nursery company with multiple locations throughout San Diego County seeking a dependable, organized, and motivated Part-Time Human Resources Coordinator to join our Human Resources team. This position supports the day-to-day HR functions for a diverse workforce in both field and office environments.

Schedule
Part-Time (20–30 hours per week)
Monday–Friday
Flexible schedule available
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Coordinate new hire onboarding, orientation, and employee paperwork.
Complete I-9 verification.
Maintain accurate and confidential employee personnel files.
Assist with recruiting, scheduling interviews, and extending employment offers.
Process employee status changes, transfers, promotions, and separations.
Support employee benefits enrollment and leave administration.
Track attendance, paid sick leave, vacation, and other employee records.
Assist with payroll processing by reviewing timekeeping records and resolving discrepancies.
Prepare HR correspondence, employment verifications, disciplinary documentation, and other employee communications.
Assist with workers' compensation claims, return-to-work documentation, and safety-related records.
Ensure compliance with California and federal employment laws.
Respond to employee questions regarding company policies and procedures.
Support HR projects and perform other administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of Human Resources or related administrative experience preferred.
Working knowledge of California employment laws.
Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Experience with processing payroll
Bilingual in English and Spanish is a must
Ability to work independently while collaborating with managers and employees across multiple locations.
