The E-Tech is responsible for maintaining the area assigned and provide services in a clean and sanitary manner following Plymouth Harbor policies and procedures as set forth by the Director of Housekeeping.
A person in this job position will normally work a 40-hour week. Flexibility is required on occasions when alternate hours and/or overtime is needed to meet deadlines, respond to emergencies and/or storm events, or provide weekend/evening coverage.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Complete work orders; report problems/concerns to your supervisor.
- Report any unsafe conditions or items in need of repair.
- Recognize and remove visible debris in any area of the facility.
- Perform set-ups/breakdowns for events and programs.
- Under the direction and supervision of the Director of Dining Services/Executive Chef, assist Dining Services with special events, as directed:
- set-ups/breakdowns
- maintaining general cleanliness in the area throughout the event
- ensure that the area is returned to pre-event status including furniture placement, trash removal, and floor cleaning
- Recycle material/trash pickup and disposal.
- Possess a working knowledge of equipment used and its correct operation.
- Perform floor care duties including vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, stripping, waxing, burnishing, machine scrubbing, carpet cleaning, use of automatic scrubber, etc.
- Use proper chemicals and dilution rates for tasks performed.
- Clean windows, tracks and frames.
- Provide assistance to Housekeepers when necessary.
- Maintain cleanliness in work and break areas.
- Work safely, complying at all times with Plymouth Harbor safety standards; use a back support when moving furniture or lifting heavy objects.
- Ensure quality workmanship in all projects.
- Keep all supplies and equipment in good working order.
- Maintain equipment including routine preventative maintenance checks.
- Respond to emergencies such as water leaks.
- Provide support to Security staff when working evening/weekend hours.
- Discharge properly any other responsibilities and duties that may be assigned by the Director of Environmental Services or designee.
- Attend and participate in workshops, seminars, and mandatory in-services as approved or required.
- Call 555 in the event of an emergency.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
- This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum one year in the field of housekeeping services/technician in a hotel, resort, CCRC, or private housekeeping services company.
General:
- Must have good organizational skills.
- Must be a detail-oriented person and able to perform duties with great accuracy on a daily basis.
- Must have excellent personal skills, demonstrating the ability to conduct oneself in a non-controversial style; a style that inspires the respect of others and promotes a sense of trust in the individual’s competence.
- Must have good communication skills; speaking, writing, and listening.
- Must be fluent in English.
