Position Summary
The Med Tech / Assistant Supervisor administers medications under the direction of the Director and LVN Supervisor while helping oversee daily operations of the Assisted Living team. This position combines hands-on resident care with leadership responsibilities, ensuring residents receive exceptional service and support in a safe and nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Medication Management
Administer medications in accordance with physician orders and community policies
Maintain accurate medication administration records
Process physician orders for medications and treatments
Monitor residents for changes in condition and report concerns promptly
Leadership & Supervision
Supervise and support Med Techs and care staff
Foster a positive, professional work environment
Assist with staff scheduling and coordination
Address performance concerns and provide guidance as needed
Resident Care
Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs)
Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse
Respond appropriately to resident concerns and changing care needs
Assist with resident admissions and re-admissions
Coordinate medical appointments and follow-up care
Administrative Support
Order and maintain necessary medical and care supplies
Ensure documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with regulations
Communicate resident health updates to the Director and LVN Supervisor
Qualifications
Current Food Handler Certification
Current First Aid Certification
Ability to pass a pre-employment physical and TB screening
Ability to obtain fingerprint clearance as required by state licensing regulations
Previous Medication Technician and/or senior living experience preferred
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Compassionate, dependable, and resident-focused approach to care
