Position Summary The Refinish Technician executes top-tier paint application and surface preparation on collision-damaged vehicles. This role requires an expert eye for color matching, adaptability across multiple paint lines, and strict adherence to safety guidelines. We focus on production efficiency without sacrificing quality. Key Responsibilities Surface Preparation: Complete final block sanding, masking, and priming for a flawless refinishing foundation. Color Matching: Utilize computerized software and spectrophotometers to accurately mix and match paint formulations. Application: Apply basecoats, clearcoats, and multi-stage finishes efficiently to meet OEM appearance standards. Versatility: Seamlessly adapt to and spray various major paint line brands based on job requirements. Quality Control: Inspect finished surfaces for defects, run corrections, and perform color-sanding and buffing. Compliance: Maintain a clean workspace and strictly comply with EPA, OSHA, and California environmental regulations. Professional Qualifications Experience: Minimum of 5 years of professional automotive painting experience in a production collision repair environment. Paint Knowledge: Broad expertise working with multiple commercial paint systems and waterborne technology. Certifications: I-CAR Refinish Technician certification or ASE B4 certification is highly preferred. Licensing: Valid California Driver’s License with an insurable driving record.
