Job Summary
The Set-Up Tech Level 1 operates and maintains extrusion lines to produce a wide range of highquality plastic tubing products following established quality and safety procedures and work order
specifications to meet the requirements of our customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Performs Hanger/Packer duties as needed
• Make counter adjustments to bring product within spec
• Performs screen changes
• Corrects wire out issue
• Start up extruder lines (Smoke & Wire)
• Perform Spool Changes
• Measures & Adjust Wire Tension
• Scan Materials
• Man automation operations
• Performs 5s duties
• Performs quality inspections
• Review work orders and discuss with supervisors and Set-Up Technicians
• Determine setup procedures and equipment settings according to specifications
• Use math calculations to determine finish times and measurement conversions
• Load material into extruder and move controls to activate the extruding lines
• Check lines to detect non-conformances; make corrections for subsequent extrusions
• Monitor the forming of the shape and watch for accuracies in dimension and size
• Perform regularly preventive maintenance
• Observe Lock out/Tag out process
• Train workers on basic extruder operations
• Keep machines and work area neat and organized
• Enters data into Unipoint.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
The position is full-time. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8-hours per day, 40-hours
per week. Overtime and weekend work are required based on production requirements.

6 months on-the-job relevant experience
High School Diploma or equivalent
Mechanical experience/inclination: auto mechanic, machine shop
