Job Title: Automotive Restoration Body Technician
Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced, self-sufficient Automotive Restoration Body Man to join our team. This position is strictly for classic car restoration and custom builds, not assembly-line insurance collision work. You must be able to take a stripped shell, handle intensive metal reconstruction, and deliver a laser-straight body ready for high-end paint.
Key Responsibilities:
• Fabricate and weld custom patch panels to replace rotted or rusted sheet metal.
• Perform lead work, metal shrinking, and extensive metal finishing with minimal reliance on fillers.
• Align vintage body panels, hoods, and doors to factory or custom gap specifications.
• Apply premium body fillers, guide coats, and execute precision block sanding.
• Disassemble classic vehicles completely, accurately bagging, labeling, and documenting all hardware.
Required Experience & Skills:
• Minimum 5+ years of dedicated classic car restoration experience (Required).
• Advanced proficiency in MIG welding and sheet metal fabrication.
• Deep understanding of metal shaping, body files, dollies, and shrinking techniques.
• Must own a comprehensive set of professional auto body hand tools.
• High attention to detail with zero tolerance for rushed, "insurance-grade" quick fixes.
