Launched in 2020, The Avenue is Highland Film Group’s US distribution division and handles all aspects of distribution, from theatrical through home entertainment to television/SVOD. The Avenue is dedicated to partnering with filmmakers and leading them into innovative ways of marketing and distribution so their stories can reach the widest audience.
The Highland Film Group Department
Highland Film Group’s global Sales, Marketing, and Acquisitions division manages the positioning, packaging, and worldwide distribution of a 25+ film annual slate. The team creates sales materials and campaigns for major markets (AFM, EFM, Cannes), prepares key art and trailers, tracks rights and deal terms, and supports distributors across theatrical, digital, AVOD, FAST, and TV. The Acquisitions & Development arm conducts competitive research, script and materials coverage, and helps package projects for international financing and sales. Together, the department drives HFG’s global strategy and provides buyers with the tools needed to maximize each film’s commercial potential.
The Avenue Department
As an emerging independent film studio, The Avenue’s Marketing & Distribution team works closely with Domestic Acquisitions & Development to shape, position, and launch a wide range of films for the U.S. marketplace. While this role is primarily focused on marketing, the department’s collaborative workflow provides exposure to how projects are evaluated, acquired, and built for release. The Avenue is recognized for its innovative, adaptable 360-degree marketing campaigns and strategic distribution approaches across theatrical and home entertainment. The division is led by two seasoned industry executives with decades of experience spanning development, marketing, and distribution.
