Position Overview
Reporting directly to the CEO or CFO, the Controller will lead all accounting and financial reporting functions, with a primary focus on manufacturing cost accounting, inventory controls, and operational financial performance.
This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for building scalable financial systems that support production efficiency, gross margin visibility, and institutional reporting standards.
The Controller will play a central role in ensuring that manufacturing scale is supported by accurate cost modeling, disciplined financial controls, and forward-looking financial insight.

Key Responsibilities
• Oversee all accounting operations, including AR/AP, payroll, general ledger, and reconciliations.
• Design, implement, and optimize cost accounting systems for manufacturing operations.
• Establish and maintain standard costing models, BOM tracking, and variance analysis across production lines.
• Lead inventory accounting and controls, including cycle counts, valuation, and reconciliation processes.
• Own ERP system optimization and ensure alignment between financial systems and manufacturing operations.
• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual GAAP-compliant financial statements.
• Drive gross margin analysis, cost visibility, and production cost optimization initiatives.
• Develop forward-looking cost models and forecasts to support scaling production and operational decision-making.
• Implement and maintain internal controls aligned with audit standards and institutional investor expectations.
• Partner closely with operations to monitor manufacturing KPIs, unit economics, and scale efficiencies.
• Support private equity reporting requirements, including performance tracking and capital structure alignment.
• Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and financial institutions.

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA strongly preferred)
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including significant exposure to manufacturing cost accounting
• Proven experience implementing standard costing systems, inventory controls, and financial processes for production environments
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and audit-ready financial statement preparation
• Experience in medical device, biotech, diagnostics, or regulated manufacturing environments preferred
• Experience with ERP systems supporting manufacturing and inventory (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, or similar)
• Experience in a PE-backed or institutionally governed company is a strong plus
