Position Overview
We are seeking a Buyer to join a growing supply chain organization responsible for supporting procurement, sourcing, and supplier management activities. This role will manage the purchasing of materials, supplies, and services while ensuring supplier performance, cost efficiency, and uninterrupted support of business operations.
The ideal candidate will have experience in purchasing, sourcing, procurement, inventory management, or supply chain operations and be comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams to support operational and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Source and procure materials, supplies, equipment, and services to support business requirements.
- Evaluate, qualify, and manage supplier relationships based on quality, cost, service, and delivery performance.
- Solicit, review, and analyze vendor quotations, bids, and proposals.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and supply agreements to maximize value and control costs.
- Create, manage, and monitor purchase orders to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
- Maintain accurate supplier records, purchasing documentation, and procurement data.
- Partner with operations, production, inventory, and supply chain teams to understand purchasing needs and priorities.
- Monitor supplier performance and address delivery, quality, or service issues as needed.
- Support inventory planning efforts and ensure material availability to meet operational demands.
- Analyze purchasing trends, spending activity, and supplier performance metrics.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and supply chain efficiencies.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and purchasing procedures.
- Stay informed on market conditions, supplier developments, and industry trends.
- Support additional sourcing, procurement, and supply chain initiatives as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, sourcing, inventory management, or supply chain.
- Experience working with ERP systems, purchasing platforms, or procurement software.
- Strong vendor management and negotiation skills.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or a related field.
- Experience within manufacturing, food production, agriculture, or related industries.
- Exposure to inventory planning, forecasting, or supplier performance management.
- Professional procurement certifications such as CPSM, CPM, or equivalent.
- Experience utilizing e-procurement platforms and digital purchasing tools.
