California English blends the laid-back spirit of California with the charm of the English countryside. Led by Executive Chef Shellie Robinson and inspired by Chef Richard Blais, our menu showcases seasonal ingredients, scratch-made dishes, craft cocktails, and a growing private events program.
We're looking for an experienced Lead Chef to join our team. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, leads by example, and takes pride in delivering consistently great food. The ideal candidate can work multiple stations, support kitchen operations, and help maintain high standards during both restaurant service and private events. We would like to develop our Lead Chef into our next Sous Chef and provide them with the training, support, and leadership opportunities needed to grow into the role.
What We're Looking For:
• 5+ years of high-volume kitchen experience
• Previous leadership experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of food safety and kitchen organization
• Ability to remain calm and focused during busy services
• Team-oriented attitude with excellent communication skills
• Experience with private events, banquets, or catering is a plus
• Front-of-house experience is a bonus and highly valued
• Reliable, professional, and committed to quality
Responsibilities:
• Lead and support daily kitchen operations
• Execute menu items with consistency and attention to detail
• Train and mentor cooks and prep staff
• Ensure food quality, cleanliness, and safety standards are maintained
• Assist with prep, line cooking, inventory, and ordering as needed
• Work closely with Executive Chef Shellie Robinson and General Manager
• Support restaurant service, brunches, private events, and special functions
