We are looking for self-motivated team members to merchandise plants, flowers, and trees at major home improvement retail stores across Encinitas and surrounding cities. This is a fantastic growth opportunity to use your creativity, stay active, and learn about the horticulture industry.
REQUIREMENT: Must have a valid, clean, and acceptable driver’s license (no DUI or egregious violations), a reliable vehicle, and the ability to provide proof of insurance as a condition of employment.
SCHEDULE, COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Hours: Generally 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM (shifts vary based on delivery schedules and seasonality).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Plant Merchandiser, you will travel between designated retail stores to ensure our green goods look spectacular and healthy. Your daily duties will include:
- Merchandising & Display: Unload plants from delivery trucks and rolling racks. Arrange products on benches and shelves according to Plan-o-Gram compliance and guidance from the Sales team.
- Plant Care & Maintenance: Assist with daily watering (using hoses) and clean display areas to keep the garden center pristine.
- Collaboration: Partner with your Sales Manager, Sales Representatives, Team Leads, and Store Managers to conduct store walks and ensure displays meet customer expectations.
- Store Resets: Assist with building and resetting retail display areas using basic tools (hammers, drills, brooms, pallet jacks).
- Administrative: Use a company-issued cell phone to log timekeeping, attendance, and track mileage reimbursement via Paycom.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS & PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This is a highly physical, fast-paced outdoor role. To be successful, you must be dependable, safety-conscious, and meet the following criteria:
- Experience: Some retail or merchandising experience is helpful, but we are willing to train the right candidate!
- Travel: Must have a valid driver's license, a good driving record, and daily access to reliable, insured transportation to drive between store locations.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, and reach (above and below the shoulder) for up to 97% of your shift.
- Heavy Lifting: Constantly lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds individually. Ability to push/pull rolling nursery racks weighing 300+ pounds.
- Safety First: Strict adherence to all safety training, personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements, policies, and company safety programs.
