Zut! On Fourth is a popular, relaxed neighborhood restaurant located on historic Fourth Street in Berkeley. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Restaurant Manager to join our team. This role is responsible for supporting day-to-day restaurant operations and leading front-of-house service, working closely with and under the guidance of our Director of Operations.
Availability: Weekend lunch availability is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and support front-of-house service staff
- Adjust daily schedules to ensure efficient operations and strong coverage
- Train, coach, and evaluate team members
- Assist with hiring, onboarding, and employee performance management
- Address and resolve guest concerns with professionalism and care
- Maintain and update monthly inventory
- Edit and update daily menus
- Manage and maintain the POS system, including menu updates
- Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth, timely service
- Support event planning and execution alongside the Director of Operations
- Respond to repair, maintenance, and general facility needs
Qualifications
- Previous experience in restaurant, retail, or customer service management
- Proactive mindset with strong follow-through
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong leadership and team-building abilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
