Zut! On Fourth is a popular, relaxed neighborhood restaurant located on historic Fourth Street in Berkeley. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Restaurant Manager to join our team. This role is responsible for supporting day-to-day restaurant operations and leading front-of-house service, working closely with and under the guidance of our Director of Operations.

Availability: Weekend lunch availability is required.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise and support front-of-house service staff
Adjust daily schedules to ensure efficient operations and strong coverage
Train, coach, and evaluate team members
Assist with hiring, onboarding, and employee performance management
Address and resolve guest concerns with professionalism and care
Maintain and update monthly inventory
Edit and update daily menus
Manage and maintain the POS system, including menu updates
Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth, timely service
Support event planning and execution alongside the Director of Operations
Respond to repair, maintenance, and general facility needs

Qualifications

Previous experience in restaurant, retail, or customer service management
Proactive mindset with strong follow-through
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong leadership and team-building abilities
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
