Hollands Custom Cabinets (HCC) is currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Drafter / Engineer with Commercial experience to join our growing team. This is a full-time position offering an excellent opportunity for individuals with drafting, engineering, or cabinet design experience who are looking to build a long-term career in the commercial millwork and cabinetry industry.
Position Details
• Job Title: Drafter / Engineer
• Employment Type: Full-Time
• Schedule: Monday–Friday
• Hours: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
• Compensation: $25.00–$30.00 per hour (based on experience)
• Location: El Cajon
The successful candidate will work closely with project managers, production staff, contractors, and clients to develop accurate drawings and engineering documentation for commercial cabinetry and millwork projects.
Responsibilities
• Create and revise detailed shop drawings and production drawings.
• Interpret architectural plans, specifications, and project requirements.
• Prepare drawings and documentation for manufacturing and production.
• Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and production personnel to ensure project accuracy and efficiency.
• Assist with engineering and design modifications as needed throughout the project lifecycle.
• Generate machine-ready files and production outputs for manufacturing equipment.
• Maintain organized project records and documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
Candidates with experience in any of the following areas are highly encouraged to apply:
• AutoCAD
• Cabinet Vision (any version)
• Commercial cabinetry or millwork drafting
• CNC machinery programming and output
• Beam Saw operations and programming
• Edge Bander operations and programming
• Commercial construction or architectural drafting
• Working with contractors, builders, architects, and corporate clients
Experience with manufacturing equipment is highly valued, as our production facility utilizes CNC routers, beam saws, edge banders, and other automated equipment. Familiarity with how engineering drawings translate into production processes is a significant advantage.
Minimum Qualifications
• Experience using AutoCAD or similar CAD software.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Willingness to learn the commercial cabinetry and millwork industry.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
