Position Overview
We’re on the hunt for an energetic, experienced Bar Manager to lead the day-to-day bar operations in our high-volume Palo Alto restaurant. This is a fun, hands-on leadership role where you’ll keep the bar running smoothly, deliver outstanding team performance, and create an electric atmosphere behind the bar. You’ll directly lead the bartenders and barbacks during service while partnering closely with the group Beverage Manager, who owns menus, vendors, and the bigger beverage vision.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and energize the bar team (bartenders and barbacks) to deliver high-volume cocktail magic and create unforgettable guest experiences every single shift!
- Oversee daily bar operations to keep things running smoothly, efficiently, and with serious flair during all service periods.
- Train, coach, and develop bartenders on mixology techniques, upselling, guest interaction, and top-tier service standards.
- Maintain sky-high standards of quality, presentation, cleanliness, and speed behind the bar.
- Control labor costs through smart scheduling and team management while keeping the energy high.
- Spot and drive upselling and revenue opportunities at the bar without missing a beat on stellar guest service.
- Shine in guest interactions — create a welcoming, fun, high-vibe bar experience while quickly resolving any concerns.
- Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and liquor compliance standards.
- Collaborate closely with floor management and kitchen teams to deliver seamless service between bar and dining room.
- Support inventory accuracy and proper product handling (day-to-day execution).
What We’re Looking For
- 2+ years of experience as a Lead Bartender, Senior Bartender, or Bar Manager/Supervisor in a high-volume, full-service restaurant or bar environment.
- Strong knowledge of mixology, craft cocktails, and high-volume bar service.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced, high-energy setting while staying hands-on behind the bar.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and guest service skills with a sharp focus on operational efficiency and revenue growth.
- Proficiency with POS systems and basic bar inventory tools.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- A positive, high-energy personality with a genuine love for hospitality, cocktails, great teams, and creating memorable nights!
