CNC LATHE - Department Supervisor
Machines include Okuma LT300MY, LB3000, LB4000 and Captain 370's, L250
Responsibilities and Duties
-Directly supervises the CNC Lathe department
- Set-up and machining of complex aerospace parts
- Trains operators, plans, assigns, and directs work
- Appraises performance, rewards and disciplines employees; addresses complaints and resolves problems.
- Reads blueprints and checks part dimensions with the appropriate measuring instruments
- Accurately uses measuring tools
- Performs in-process inspection of machined parts
- Work with Quality Dept. to ensure parts are made to customer specs.
- Work with Production Control to help provide time estimates
Qualifications and Skills
- 10 years minimum set-up experience in Aerospace/Defense, tight tolerance environment
- 2 years minimum supervisory experience
- Experience with (heat treated) alloys such as 4140, 4340, 8620, 9310, NIT135, 13-3, 15-5, 17-4, 718 etc.
- Excellent blueprint reading and math skills
- Must know G code programming and troubleshoot set-ups
- Knowledge of ISO9001/AS9100 QMS (calibration, traceability etc.)
- Excellent communication skills and proven problem-solving abilities necessary
