About the Role:
The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily operations within our Milk Processing & Yogurt departments. This role ensures production goals are met while maintaining high standards for food safety, quality, employee safety, and efficiency. The supervisor leads and supports team members, enforces policies, and drives continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily department operations to meet production, quality, and safety targets
- Lead, train, schedule, and evaluate department employees
- Enforce food safety standards, GMPs, sanitation procedures, and company policies
- Monitor production processes and address issues related to efficiency, quality, or safety
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (FDA, USDA, HACCP, SQF, or similar)
- Coordinate with Quality Assurance, Maintenance, and other departments
- Complete production reports, attendance records, and performance documentation
- Investigate and resolve employee concerns and operational problems
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and cost-saving efforts
- Ensure proper use of equipment and materials
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- 2–5 years of supervisory experience in a food manufacturing or production environment
- Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and GMPs
- Ability to lead teams in a fast-paced environment
- Bilingual Preferred
- Basic computer skills (production systems, spreadsheets, reports)
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends or overtime as needed
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the facility for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs with or without assistance
- Comfortable working in a production environment (warm, cold, wet, loud, or refrigerated areas as applicable)
