What You Will Achieve
The US Hematology Thought Leader Engagement Lead (TLEL), will play a critical role on the growing US Hematology team by developing and executing an overarching Thought Leader engagement plan for key national and regional thought leaders in the field of Hematology. Pfizer’s Hematology portfolio spans multiple products in lymphoma, multiple myeloma and leukemia. This leader will create a first-class experience for external stakeholders in Hematology, coordinating relationships end-to-end (research to end-of-lifecycle) and working as part of a broader cross-functional Pfizer team. Focusing on National, Emerging, and certain Community Thought Leaders, this person will be responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships across a wide variety of key Hematology thought leaders.
The TLEL will be engaging Hematology Thought Leaders via 1:1 engagements at major congresses and national / regional product theaters to identify mutual points of interest between the TL and Pfizer Oncology Commercial, gathering insights on Hematology Thought Leader beliefs and preferences to inform development and execution of HCP commercial strategies / tactics, nominating TLs for Ad Boards, Speaker Programs, or other programming as requested by marketing teams, collaborating effectively with the HEME Global Thought Leader Strategy Lead, and advancing the capabilities of the Hematology franchise in the US.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop, in partnership with key functions within the commercial team, a ONE Pfizer approach that fully integrates Opinion Leader and key stakeholder engagement plans inclusive of HCPs, Opinion Leaders and researchers to maximize the evolving Pfizer Hematology portfolio in the US.
- Drive a ONE Pfizer, fully integrated approach to engaging HCPs, opinion leaders, and researchers to maximize the US Hematology portfolio
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders (Marketing, Medical, Key Account Teams, Policy, Patient Affairs, Communications) to align engagement strategies with business priorities
- Gather and synthesize insights from 1:1 engagements, small group interactions, advisory boards, and congress activities to inform portfolio strategy and decision-making
- Translate stakeholder insights into actionable recommendations to support commercial execution and strategic planning
- Develop and maintain comprehensive Opinion Leader and key stakeholder engagement plans, including tracking of interactions and outcomes
- Facilitate connections between opinion leaders and internal subject matter experts to support appropriate engagement and collaboration
- Coordinate and support execution of speaking engagements, including symposia and speaker programs
- Design, implement, and manage engagement metrics, including post-engagement evaluations, congress feedback, and benchmark surveys
- Ensure all engagement activities and processes adhere to Pfizer legal, compliance, and regulatory standards
- Conduct local market ecosystem assessments to identify barriers and opportunities impacting stakeholder engagement
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners to develop and support localized action plans based on market insights
- Support planning and execution of engagement strategies for key congresses, including defining objectives, discussion topics, and success metrics
- Share insights, best practices, and learnings across teams to enhance engagement strategy and identify gaps or opportunities
- Maintain deep knowledge of hematology therapeutic areas, including disease state, treatment landscape, and emerging pipeline
- Support the development and maintenance of operating procedures to ensure that all activities are consistent with Pfizer’s highest standards for compliance and integrity.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.
- Bachelor's degree minimum required + Minimum of 8 years of experience in sales, marketing, medical affairs, strategy, new product launch, customer engagement or business development in the pharmaceutical / biotechnology industries.
- Experience in customer engagement within Hematology highly preferred
- Experience in the design, development and execution of opinion leader engagement programs inclusive of tracking performance against goals and course correcting when needed
- Demonstrated success in influence/negotiation and proven ability to build and maintain productive and collaborative relationships with key external and internal stakeholders, including key opinion leaders.
- Proven leadership skills while working in cross-functional and matrix environment, with an ability to lead by influence.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills, including capabilities for uncovering deep customer insights, and assessing complex business/customer situations and translating insights into actionable plans.
- Track record of working well across internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience presenting to senior leadership
- Demonstrated creativity in development and partnership collaborations / innovative programs
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills- thinks & communicates with the audience's needs first (i.e. ad boards).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Advanced degree preferred. Science or clinical background a plus
- Malignant Hematology experience, preference for lymphoma and myeloma
NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS
- 50% overnight and international travel with weekends.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $176,600.00 to $294,300.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 20.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
