Busy manufacturer seeking Production Manager to coordinate the flow of production in the Beasley and Sheeter Department where you create the highest capacity with machines running at manufacturing specifications while acheiving the lowest waste due to best practices, and highest efficiencies with the lowest possible cost. Run the department at 93% efficiency with goal of 100% efficient based on your innovations.
Key Job Functions:
60%* Train, Motivate and supply the staff for success in their positions.
- Supervisors - Get best production with human, raw material and assets
- Adjustors -Prepare Adjustors to be seamless between shifts
- Put together a program for Pre-production set up for change overs. Have all items at the machine at the time of next production run and ready to go.’
- Either a set of operators who are trained in best practices to get plates on quickly and within register that can train others to do the same
- Standardize the tools used on the machine
- Operators - Initially, operators should take over a set of machines following best practices. Then, they should train the line to implement these same best practices shift by shift. Continue training operators until you assemble a team that will drive long-term success for the company.
20% MACHINES Running at Manufacturing Specs - work with Engineering on creating capacity with our current machines, participating in the planning of rebuilds and fit machines for best production
20% Scheduling - Get machine specifications, reviewing all change over data in Schedulers database, create all change over cards and recommend improvements to customer service and sales to get best production while not sacrificing customer specifications or quality
- Responsible for reporting issues related to Food Packaging safety or quality.
- Responsible for Breaches of security.
- Production Manager– would be responsible for the direction of the labor work force. (Alternate: General Manager)
- Continue to work on continuous improvement projects.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 6 years’ experience in Production Management
- Able to understand the engineering, care, and use of the machines and the associated production parts to produce a quality product
- Skilled at procedures and execution of best practices.
- Schedule, train, motivate and supply 100 plus employees in a production environment.
- Ability to assemble the product at the lowest possible production cost
Additional Duties & Responsibilities
- Negotiates, coordinates and documents goals for all plant employees. Ensure that employee development plans are in place and effective.
- Communicates information in a timely and responsible fashion.
- Achieves budget objectives by scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
- Plans and leads the implementation of all cultural change initiatives at the location.
- Monitors and controls all Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) activities to ensure compliance with goals. Ensures compliance with all safety and environmental legal requirements.
- Controls and secures the stable operation of the manufacturing unit. Ensures the plant is reliable and available for production.
- Assists in tracking and communicating EBITDA measurements.
- Ensures the availability of product while controlling inventory levels.
- Fosters an environment of open communication throughout all levels of the location.
- Assist in implementation and evaluation of various cost savings programs.
- Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the company policies and applicable laws.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
- Protects operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential.
- Develop strong trusting relationships across every level of company in order to gain support and achieve results.
