Principal Risk Specialist (Global Payments Network)
The Global Payment Network Business Risk Office partners with business units to identify, assess, and mitigate Network-specific operational and regulatory risks. The Business Risk Office designs and executes risk frameworks, manages issues and complaints, ensures compliance, supports change management, and fosters a culture of accountability and informed decision-making. The Global Payment Network Business Risk Office Governance team ensures effective governance and risk management across Discover Network, Diners Club International, and PULSE Network, ensuring Network or Participant impacting decisions are effectively challenged, approved, and socialized. As part of the team you will:
1. Support the team in identifying and assessing risk for decisions impacting the Network, Participants, or Cardholders.
2. Act as a liaison between Discover Network, Diners Club International, and/or PULSE Network and key stakeholders and process owners, facilitating effective challenge, approval, and reporting processes.
3. Build and implementation of program components including but not limited to Third Party Risk Management, Resolution Planning, and Operational Risk Scenarios.
Responsibilities:
Risk Consulting to one or more Business Areas relative to their business lines and provide advice and guidance as required.
Client Management - Develop and leverage key relationships with stakeholders that enable collaboration across the enterprise.
Coordinate with applicable business areas and second line of defense to define/ implement remediation activities.
Monitoring and Reporting of Risk and Compliance
Partnership with Business Continuity, Crisis Management, Change Management, and other risk management programs.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree or Military experience
At least 2 years of Risk Management Experience.
At least 2 years of Project Management experience.
At least 3 years of experience supporting, partnering and interacting with internal business clients.
Preferred Qualifications:
At least 3 years of Project Management experience leading cross functional projects and programs in Risk.
Certifications including but not limited to PMP, CRM, CIPP, CRCM.

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

McLean, VA: $120,800 - $137,900 for Principal Risk Specialist
New York, NY: $131,800 - $150,500 for Principal Risk Specialist

Riverwoods, IL: $109,900 - $125,400 for Principal Risk Specialist
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidates offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
