Overview:
Shop Foreman will lead and manage our shop production operations. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth, efficient, and safe running of the shop, with a strong focus on millwork products. The employee will oversee all aspects of shop production, training, and team management while maintaining high standards of quality and productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and supervise shop operations to ensure efficiency and adherence to the production schedule.
- Train new and existing employees on shop policies and procedures, ensuring that all personnel are up-to-date and compliant.
- Oversee all shop operations to confirm schedules are maintained and work is performed efficiently.
- Be knowledgeable about millwork products, including doors and trim, to guide production and troubleshooting efforts.
- Serve as the direct report for all shop production team members, providing guidance, support, and performance evaluations.
- Assist management in enforcing current processes and procedures while working with the Shop Operations Manager to develop new ones to enhance overall efficiency and thoroughness.
- Maintain a safe and collaborative work environment by conducting regular safety inspections and meetings.
- Operate forklifts to load and unload trucks efficiently and safely.
- Complete other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- At least 5 years proven experience as a shop foreman, o a similar leadership role in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Extensive knowledge of millwork products, including doors and trim is a plus.
- Extensive knowledge in warehouse safety and OSHA regulations
- Proficient in forklift operation and experienced in loading and unloading trucks.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt to change and implement new processes.
- Proficiency in computer skills.
- Ability to stand and/or sit for long periods.
- Ability to lift to up to 75 pounds.
- Bilingual is a plus.
