S³ is currently seeking a Full Time IT Technician to join the Corporate IT team at our HQ in Cummings Research Park, Huntsville, AL.
This is not a teleworking position.
Position Description
Under general supervision, thw IT Technician diagnoses computer problems, monitors computer processing systems, installs software and performs tests on computer equipment and programs. The IT Technician is also responsible for setup of computer equipment to include printers, scheduling maintenance and teaching users to use programs. May perform one or more of the following duties.
- Install cabling throughout the worksite for the initial hookup or relocation of information systems.
- Repair simple malfunctions by adjusting, aligning or modifying cabling or connectivity using hand or power tools.
- Enter and delete a wide variety of data to maintain updated and current databases.
- Perform system backups on a regularly scheduled basis.
- Record operating and down time of system.
- May assist in micro/mini/mainframe interface.
- Assist at users' help desk.
- Perform other duties as directed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems and 3 years of related experience or HS Diploma and 7 years of related experience.
- Active DoD secret or higher security clearance or the ability to obtain one in a timely fashion.
- At least 1 year of experience analyzing potential risk using PC/System virus protection software
- At least 1 year of experience working with Active Directory
- At least 1 year of experience performing new installs on PC's to include software, configuring peripherals, printers and virtual machines
- At least 1 year of experience performing troubleshooting on systems,PC's, and laptops
- At least 1 year of experience performing scheduled backups on servers/PC's/laptops
- At least 1 year of experience deploying or implementing Microsoft Office products, Windows 7, Windows 10
- Ability to use Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI)
- Ability to deploy software updates on PC's and servers
