Job DetailsJob Location: UCP of Central Arizona Laura Dozer Main Campus - Phoenix, AZ 85027The primary responsibility of this position is to be first point of contact for visitors, families, and employees at the Laura Dozer Center. The Medical Front Desk team member is responsible for greeting families, visitors, and employees in person and over the phone, maintaining therapist schedules, scheduling ongoing and make-up appointments, collecting co-pays, communicating information changes with the therapy administrative team, and general administrative support for the therapy department and administrative support for the agency.
Essential Job Functions:
Answer front desk telephone, screen and direct calls, take and relay messages as needed.
Greet all visitors, employees and families entering the Laura Dozer Center in a positive and professional manner.
Give all visitors visitor badges to wear while on UCP property.
Sign-in packages delivered to the Laura Dozer Center.
Maintain knowledge of all UCP services to provide accurate and timely information to callers and visitors.
Maintain a tidy and professional appearance of the reception and waiting areas.
Proficient use of the Microsoft Office applications specifically including Word and Outlook.
Work as a team on a daily basis.
Write letters and email in a professional manner.
Other duties as necessary to achieve departmental and agency goals for the Laura Dozer location.

Maintain consistent attendance.
Laura Dozer Therapy Program Responsibilities:
Check-in children for therapy appointments.
Direct families to the family room/waiting areas.
Verbally confirm future therapy appointments.
Update patient information and medical insurance information as needed into the EMR.
Make copies of medical insurance cards and provide information to the administrative team.
Collect co-pays and deductibles at the point of service.
Communicate with families to process cancellations and reschedules.
Offer make-up appointments to families.
Monitor therapist schedules daily to maintain full schedules for the Laura Dozer clinic, offering make-up and work-in appointments consistently for all open appointment times.
Monitor and report family absences and attendance trends for the weekly team meeting.
Review and update schedule and absences section of weekly team agenda.
Provide general administrative support to the Laura Dozer Therapy Program.
Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, increase timely service and streamline work processes for therapies.
Interact with front lobby guests, following procedures related to safety at the Laura Dozer Center including security alerts and all other related procedures.
QualificationsKnowledge of:
Medical front desk operations
Microsoft Office applications and general business computer use
Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures
Knowledge of effectively using phone system as a receptionist
Solid organizational skills
Bilingual English/Spanish Preferred
High School Diploma or GED
Ability to:
Communicate orally and in writing with consumers, families, employees and external companies or representatives.
Work under pressure (i.e., handling tasks which come up simultaneously and/or unexpectedly and approaching deadlines).
Produce written documents with clearly organized thoughts using proper sentence construction, punctuation, and grammar.
Learn job-related material primarily through oral instructions and observation. This learning takes place mainly in an on-the-job training setting.

Required:
One-year administrative experience, preferably as a medical receptionist.
