About SAGE Brands
SAGE Brands is a lean, fast-moving lighting company with a global supply chain and a big product vision. With a tight-knit team every person here has meaningful ownership over their work — and this role is no exception. We’re looking for a sharp, self-directed operations leader to keep our business running smoothly from the inside out.
Role Overview
As Operations Manager, you’ll own the full operational backbone of SAGE Brands — from international logistics, purchasing, and supply chain to day-to-day business processes and cross-functional coordination. You’ll be the connective tissue between our suppliers, freight partners, internal teams, and leadership, ensuring everything runs efficiently and nothing falls through the cracks.
Key Responsibilities
Logistics & Freight
• Manage international freight — ocean, air, and ground — for inbound product from overseas suppliers
• Negotiate and maintain relationships with freight forwarders, brokers, and 3PLs
• Optimize routing, timing, and cost across shipping lanes to ensure on-time delivery.
• Own internal operations processes — including order management, inventory tracking, and SOP development — and serve as the operational hub for cross-functional coordination
• Partner with finance on landed cost tracking, duty accruals, cash flow forecasting, and budget management
Vendor & Supplier Management
• Maintain and develop relationships with international suppliers and logistics partners
• Track supplier performance against lead times, quality standards, and contractual obligations, and identify backup vendors to reduce single-source risk
Purchasing
• Own the purchasing process from PO creation through delivery confirmation for all product, materials, and operational supplies
• Develop and maintain purchasing schedules aligned with inventory needs, sales forecasts, and lead times
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and contract terms with domestic and international suppliers
What We’re Looking For
• 5–8+ years of experience in operations management, supply chain, or international logistics
• Hands-on experience with freight forwarding, customs brokerage, and import/export documentation
• Experience managing vendor relationships across multiple geographies (Asia sourcing a strong plus)
• Experience managing purchasing processes including PO management, supplier negotiation, and cost control
• Strong organizational and project management skills — you track details without losing sight of the big picture
• Comfort working independently in a small company environment
• Proficiency with ERPs(Netsuite Preferred), TMS platforms, or operations tools; Excel/Google Sheets fluency required
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional and cross-border collaboration
