Role Description
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Procurement and Supply Chain Manager to lead and optimize the procurement of goods and services, ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality and timely delivery. The position will manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and analyze market trends to make informed purchasing decisions. This role requires strategic planning, team leadership and optimizing procurement processes to align with overall business goals.
Duties
- Develop and Implement Procurement Strategies: Create and execute strategies to optimize the procurement process, reduce costs, and improve efficiency.
- Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers, negotiate contracts, and manage ongoing relationships to ensure reliable supply chains.
- Inventory Management: Oversee inventory levels, monitor stock, and implement strategies for managing and disposing of excess or outdated inventory.
- Team Leadership: Manage and lead teams of buyers and purchasing agents, providing guidance, training, and performance management.
- Cost Analysis and Negotiation: Analyze costs, negotiate favorable contract terms, and ensure value for money in all purchases.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with the procurement process, such as supply chain disruptions or price fluctuations.
- Reporting and Analysis: Generate reports on purchasing activities, analyze key performance indicators (KPIs), and provide insights for decision-making.
- Compliance: Ensure all procurement activities comply with relevant regulations, policies, and ethical standards.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve processes, implement best practices, and leverage technology to enhance efficiency.
Competencies & Qualifications
- Deep knowledge of procurement processes, supplier management, and contract negotiation.
- Proficiency in using purchasing software, inventory management systems, and other relevant tools. Knowledge of P21 system and lubricant experience preferred.
- Ability to negotiate favorable terms and conditions with suppliers.
- Ability to develop and implement purchasing strategies aligned with business goals.
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions and with proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with suppliers, internal stakeholders, and team members.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team, set goals, and manage performance.
- Ability to identify, prioritize and resolve issues related to procurement, supplier performance, and inventory management. Ability to conduct root cause analysis swiftly and effectively.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
