HVAC General Superintendent
The General Superintendent is responsible for overseeing all field operations for HVAC and mechanical construction projects. This role ensures projects are executed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with company quality standards. The General Superintendent provides leadership to field teams, coordinates with project management, and drives productivity across multiple job sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Field Operations & Project Execution
- Oversee daily field operations across multiple HVAC/mechanical construction projects
- Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and per contract specifications
- Coordinate manpower, equipment, and materials across job sites
- Monitor project schedules and proactively address delays or risks
- Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop Superintendents, Foremen, and field personnel
- Support workforce planning, staffing, and labor productivity
- Promote accountability and high-performance standards across field teams
- Safety & Compliance
- Enforce all company safety policies and OSHA regulations
- Conduct regular job site visits, audits, and safety meetings
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
- Quality Control
- Ensure all HVAC installations meet design specifications, codes, and company standards
- Conduct inspections and coordinate with QA/QC teams as needed
- Address and resolve field issues, rework, or deficiencies
- Coordination & Communication
- Partner with Project Managers to align field execution with project goals
- Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and other trades
- Participate in project meetings, planning sessions, and progress reviews
- Budget & Cost Control
- Monitor labor costs, productivity, and job performance metrics
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs
- Support forecasting and resource planning efforts
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in HVAC/mechanical construction, with progressive field leadership experience
- Proven experience managing multiple large-scale commercial or industrial projects
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, piping, ductwork, and mechanical installations
- Deep understanding of construction scheduling, sequencing, and field coordination
- OSHA certification (OSHA 30 preferred)
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications

Salary Description $140,000-$150,000
